Omani State Council President Meets Chinese Top Adviser
In a meeting with visiting Chinese top adviser Li Ruihuan on May 18, Omani President of State Council Hamoud Bin Abdulla al-Hathy said his country has been interested in China's economic achievements based on reform and opening policies.
Al-Hathy extended his warm welcome to the visit to Oman by Li, who is chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
The president said the relations between China and Oman have been long-standing and the Omani State Council would like to enhance exchange and cooperation with the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
The Chinese guest said China treasured her historical friendship with Oman and had been attaching much attention to the bilateral cooperation of mutual benefits, adding the friendly relations served the fundamental interests of both sides.
Li praised Oman for its experience and achievements in ensuring water supply for industrial and agricultural production and daily needs, saying China was willing to conduct joint study with Oman in the protection, exploration and use of water resources.
Li and his entourage arrived in Muscat for the visit on May17 evening. (Xinhua)
