News in Brief 　　*The result of "`Asian Agriculture Cup' Agriculture Contribution Award" of the Asian Agriculture Research and Development Fund (founded in 1994) was announced recently in Northwest Agriculture University. Sixty agriculture scientists, agriculture technology promotion personnel and farmers received awards for their outstanding contribution to agriculture development in northwest China. 　　*Beijing Xinhua Foreign Languages Book Trading Group joins hands with over 500 publishers to hold book exhibitions in about 140 Xinhua and Foreign Language bookstores in downtown and suburban areas of Beijing. 　　*Natural Disasters Risk and Insurance Research Center, jointly organized by Swiss Isurance Company and Beijing Normal University, held earlier signature and inauguration ceremony in Beijing. The center is to be quartered in the Institute of Resources Science in Beijing Normal University, focusing its work on collection of records registering serious natural disasters as floods, quakes and insurance losses incurred, and to provide risk insurance estimates of natural disasters in China.
