BEIJING, May 26 – The "Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" initiative will bring about an enormous economic growth to many countries and regions while promoting their cooperation, said a recent article of the Huffington Post , the most popular news blogging website in the United Stateswith more than 100 million readers worldwide.

The Huffington Post article said the initiative put forward by China offers new perspective to central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

As the initiative retraces the ancient Silk Road westward, the article said, the west countries and regions need to deepen their understanding of, and expand their cooperation with, the modern, ever growing China.

Misunderstanding derives from inadequate knowledge and communication, it added, noting as more and more western media cover the initiative, it is expected that misunderstanding would be removed and understanding be increased.

The initiative has got momentum, a report in South China Morning Post of Hong Kong said.

From Central Asia to Europe, Southeast Asia to South Asia and Africa -- the scope of the initiative extends beyond infrastructure development to trade and investments, it said.

The report said Southeast Asia has responded enthusiastically to the initiative for "greater mutual flows of goods, people and capital will promote economic growth for both sides."

The benefits of the initiative are also visible in China’s cooperation with Australia in terms of agriculture, environment protection, medical service and education, an article in The Australian said.

The initiative will link China and Australia through the South Pacific route, enabling the two countries to share their respective strengths in market, capital, technology and infrastructure development, the article said.

It will also open up another mass of trade and investment opportunities, stressed the article, adding "seizing these opportunities is vital to both China and Australia."

In the article "Europe: The other end of China's Silk Road", the EU Observer said, an economic force is sweeping along the Silk Road bringing China ever closer to the European markets.

To some, the article observed, this economic force will be seen as a threat -- Chinese goods getting a quicker route to the European markets will place more pressure on the European industries.

But, the article said, this is a dynamic that is going to happen anyway. In fact, the article pointed out, it is far better to try to improve the European industries by grasping the opportunities created by the economic force.

As the foundation of economic cooperation with China has been firmly established over the last several decades, the Western countries, instead of being boxed in by stereotypes and prejudices, will benefit from the great blueprint of the initiative, the paper believed.
