BEIJING, April 30 -- General Motors (GM) China Investment Co., Ltd. will recall 650 Opel Insignia cars on the Chinese mainland over flawed tailgate gas struts which may fall suddenly and cause accidents, China's quality watchdog said on Thursday.
The recall, which starts on July 8 this year, will involve vehicles manufactured between June 22, 2011 and July 25, 2013, according to a notice issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The vehicles affected by the recall are all imported models.
The company will replace the flawed parts free of charge. Opel is a GM subsidiary.
