BEIJING, June 24 -- Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will recall 10,710 vehicles in China due to airbag problems, China's quality watchdog said Tuesday.
The recall involves 1,841 Civic cars produced between March 6, 2002 and Feb. 7, 2003, 1,831 Stream cars made between Nov. 17, 2000 and Jan. 27, 2003 and 7,038 CR-V cars produced between Jan. 21, 2002 and April 10, 2003, according to a statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Due to production faults, the airbags of the front passenger seats of the vehicles may fail to work in times of need, said Honda.
The company said it will offer free replacement of the airbags for the affected vehicles.
