Beijing, April 18 (People's Daily Online) – The seven-day "Cross-strait Art Exhibition Universal Harmony on Ink Painting" will kick off at Changliu Art Museum in Taiwan next Thursday, according to a press conference held in Yanhuang Art Museum, Beijing, April 17, 2014.

Organized by Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry and Hakka Jinlong Cultural Industry in Fujian Province, the exhibition is part of the 5th Cross-strait Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition. It is the first time that ink paintings have been involved in the exhibition.

A total of 40 ink paintings and calligraphy works from 11 mainland artists and four Taiwan artists will be exhibited, covering traditional subjects including figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds.

The Cross-strait Cultural and Creative Industries Exhibition is an important cross-strait exchanging activity in cultural and creative industries. The exhibition aims to promote the exchange and prosperity of cultural and creative industries on both sides of the Straits, and enhancing the core competitiveness of the Chinese cultural products.

According to Mei Song, person-in-charge of Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry, the cultures on both sides of the Straits have the same roots, and much of the art is interlinked. Cultural and cooperative exchange bases will be established in Beijing and Taiwan; regular art exhibitions will be held every year to promote cultural industries development on both sides of the Straits.
