In 2013, the total volume of China's e-commerce transaction has exceeded 10 trillion yuan, among which online retail accounting for 1.85 trillion yuan, said Zhang Peidong, deputy director of e-commerce division of the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday during an online interview.
Zhang estimated that China has surpassed the United States to become world's largest online retail market.
Rapid rise of e-commerce has created huge space for the development of express delivery enterprises, according to Liu Liangyi, deputy director of market supervision division under China's Post Bureau, who also took part in the online interview.
Of the 1.85 trillion yuan, express delivery companies contributed about 1 trillion yuan and 60 percent of the 9.2 billion deliveries were from online shopping, Liu said.
