BEIJING, March 20 -- U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama arrived in Beijing on Thursday afternoon, kicking off her seven-day visit to China, at the invitation of Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
After travel in Beijing, Michelle Obama will visit Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, an ancient city best known for its museum of Terra Cotta Warriors
She will end her trip in Chengdu in southwest Sichuan Province, which is the hometown of pandas.
