JAKARTA, March 7 -- Members states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) expressed their condolences to the Chinese government and families of victims in the recent terrorist attack on March 1 in China's southwestern city of Kunming,
ASEAN members strongly condemned terrorism in all kinds of forms and manifestation, ASEAN Secretariat said in a statement issued here Friday.
"ASEAN renews its commitment to work with China to further intensify its cooperation to combat all forms of terrorism," the statement said.
It also said that ASEAN supports the efforts of China government to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Several knife-wielding assailants stabbed and slashed passengers with long-bladed knives at the square in front of the Kunming Railway Station and the ticket hall last Saturday, killing 29 people and injuring more than 140 others.
The brutal act of terrorism has led to worldwide condemnation.
