BEIJING, Feb. 27-- China on Thursday encouraged the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) to reconcile and cooperate with each other.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying made the remarks at a regular press briefing, saying that China hopes the two countries prioritize common interests, improve bilateral relations, and achieve reconciliation and cooperation for regional peace and stability.

China will provide firm support for their efforts to improve relations, she added.

Hua also made positive comments on ROK President Park Geun-hye's commitment to improving ties with DPRK and commended her efforts in developing China-ROK ties.
