Angolan President congratulates new Chinese leader

LUANDA, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has sent a message of congratulations to new Chinese President Xi Jinping on his election as Chinese president, the official news agency Angop reported on Saturday.

Eduardo dos Santos, on behalf of the Angolan government and himself, wished Xi Jinping success and happiness in his term as Chinese president.

"We are certain that under the leadership of your excellence, the People's Republic of China will continue to be a great reference in the world in terms of prosperity and non-stop and sustained development, which is also considered to be one of the most important stakeholders for world peace, stability and balance in the international relations," the Angolan leader said in his message.

The Angolan leader also reaffirmed that Angola hoped to further strengthen friendship and cooperation with China in a win-win strategic partnership to benefit the two countries.
