NANNING, May 16 -- Three sailors are missing after a cargo ship capsized in waters off an island of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Friday, local authorities said.

According to Weizhou maritime safety authorities, the accident occurred around noon near the Beihai City docks.

There were more than 30 crew on board and three are missing.

The rescue operation and investigation are underway.
