CHENGDU, May 15 -- A former senior police officer in southwest China's Sichuan Province faces prosecution for bribe-taking, said the provincial procuratorate on Thursday.
An investigation found evidence that Li Rongbiao, former deputy chief of public order management with the Sichuan Public Security Department, accepted bribes worth more than 10 million yuan (1.6 million U.S. dollars) while he was in post, said the Sichuan Provincial People's Procuratorate.
The probe into Li's case has ended and he now faces prosecution, it said.
Li was arrested in February.
