Two more people have been rescued from the rubble of a residential building that collapsed in Fenghua City in east China's Zhejiang Province on Friday morning.
Five others had been pulled from the debris as of 12:30 p.m., one of whom died after emergency treatment.
The five storey building with 15 apartments in Jujing Community collapsed at around 9 a.m., sources with Fenghua government said.
During a citywide building safety inspection late last year, the building was identified as dangerous. The warning resulted in a reinforcement, but was not enough to call for an evacuation, according to Zhuo Houjia, a deputy mayor of Fenghua.
It is believed that all trapped people have been rescued, but the rescuers are still using radar to seek people possibly buried in the debris.
