A four-year-old boy who stuck his head between bars of anti-theft nets outside the 4th floor window was saved unharmed after supported by a man for 40 minutes in northwest China’s Ningxia on Tuesday.

Zhou Bo was about to go home with his father when he heard the noise from a crowd in front of the apartment building 6. Zhou elbowed his way forward and looked up. He saw a boy whose head got stuck and his body hanging in the air.

"Save the child!" Zhou rushed to the 4th floor but found the door was locked. He then turned to the home on the third floor. If he could support the boy, he would not be suffocated; therefore, Zhou asked the home owner for stool and placed it on the window sill.

He risked his life standing on the stool with all his body out of the window. He managed to hold the boy on his palms. Zhou kept this lifting posture for 40 minutes before firefighters’ arrival.

The boy was finally recued unfarmed at 6:35 p.m. by firefighters. Zhou could not move because of extreme stress and exhaustion at that time.
