PRESTORIA, March 3 -- Paralympian Oscar Pistorius arrived at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday morning to hear murder charges.
The trial, which will begin shortly, has attracted the world attention.
Security inside and outside the court was tight. Eight big flat screen televisions have been set up to ensure a fully live broadcast of the trial, dubbed as trial of the century.
Pistorius was accused of premeditatedly murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his Pretoria home on Valentines Day last year, a charge he denied. He said he shot Steenkamp by mistake, mistaking her for an intruder
Steenkamp's mother June as well as the sister and brother of Pistorius were also seen arriving at the courthouse.
The police's cell phone expert, Francois Moller and the head of police's psychological investigative unit, Gerard Labuschane have also arrived in court.
