PERTH, Australia, April 18 -- A total of 11 aircraft and 12 ships will assist in Friday's search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, and the autonomous underwater vehicle, Bluefin-21 has commenced mission five, the Joint Agency Coordination Center (JACC) confirmed in its latest update on Friday.
According to the JACC, overnight Bluefin-21 completed another mission in the underwater search area and has commenced mission five. Bluefin-21 has searched approximately 110 square kilometers to date.
"Data analysis from the fourth mission did not provide any contacts of interest," the JACC confirmed.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has planned a visual search area totaling approximately 51,870 square kilometer, across three areas, for the search operation on Friday, when weather forecast is isolated showers and south easterly winds.
