CANBERRA, March 24 -- An Australian air force P-3 Orion plane spotted two suspicious objects in the search area for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, the Australia Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said on Monday.
HMAS Success is on scene and is attempting to locate the objects in the southern Indian Ocean area, some 2,500 km southwest of Perth, Australia, according to a AMSA Twitter post.
The crew on board the Orion reported seeing two objects -- the first a grey or green circular objects and the second an orange rectangular object.
The objects spotted by the Australian plane are separate to the objects reported by the Chinese Ilyushin IL-76 to AMSA earlier Monday.
But the U.S. Navy P-8 Poseidon was unable to relocate the objects reported by the Chinese aircraft.
