HANOI, March 12 -- Vietnam's searching mission for the missing Malaysian jet still continued as planned, Vo Van Tuan, deputy chief of staff of the Vietnamese army, said Wednesday.
Tuan said at the National Committee for Search and Rescue in Hanoi that Vietnam would not suspend its search efforts to locate missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Vietnamese aircraft and vessels still went on with their search for the plane, said Tuan.
Earlier, an official from Vietnam's National Committee for Search and Rescue who did not reveal his name told Xinhua that " Vietnam People's Army is implementing search activities as planned".
Aviation search and rescue command post under Vietnam's Air Traffic Coordination Center in Hanoi also said that Vietnamese aircraft had taken off from southern Tan Son Nhat international airport to conduct its mission.
"Vietnam is devoted to looking for the whereabouts of the jet," said an official.
