TEHRAN, Feb. 26 -- Iran will withstand any pressure in the ongoing nuclear talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Wednesday.
The Iranian government is committed to its nuclear obligations based on the interim deal reached in Geneva in November, Zarif said in a joint press conference with his visiting Iraqi counterpart, Hoshyar Zebari.
The West has to reach an understanding with Iran and to talk with the Iranian nation with the language of respect since Iran will resist any language of threat, he said.
"We believe that in case the other side shows goodwill and political determination, understanding and agreement is fully within reach" in the talks between Iran and the world powers aimed to reach a comprehensive deal, he added.
On Sunday, Zarif said Iran was determined to continue nuclear negotiations with the world powers and also to counter any "excuse " for mounting sanction pressure.
After three days of intensive negotiations, EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton and Zarif announced last week the timetable for the next round of talks.
