China always attaches importance to enhancing friendly cooperation with Guinea-Bissau, Chinese defense minister Chi Haotian said Thursday in Beijing.
Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, made the remarks at a meeting with Verissimo Correia Seabra, chief of the army staff of Guinea-Bissau.
Chi said that the two countries' relations have developed smoothly in recent years. The exchange of visits of military leaders on both sides will further the friendly cooperation between the two countries and two military forces.
Chi said that China praised the Guinea-Bissau government's efforts to develop its national economy, improve people's life and maintain the regional peace and stability, and also appreciated its support for China on the Taiwan issue.
