Multi-lateral Trading System Good to World Economy and Trade: Shi Guangsheng
"China needs a just and fair world multi-lateral trading system, which will be good to world economy and trade as well as China's foreign trade and economic cooperation," said Shi Guangsheng at his arrival in Doha on Wednesday night to attend the 4th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization.
Shi Guangsheng, China's minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation and head of the Chinese Government Delegation, arrived in Doha on Wednesday night to attend the 4th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization to be held this week.
Shi said he was very happy to come for the conference this time as the conference is expected to adopt relevant documents that will enable China to become a full member of the WTO. The meeting will also decide whether to launch a new round of multi-lateral trade talks.
At the meeting, China will finalize the last necessary procedures for the country's accession to the WTO, and Shi will also expound China's stance on the launching of the new round of multi-lateral talks.
"China needs a just and fair world multi-lateral trading system, which will be good to world economy and trade as well as China's foreign trade and economic cooperation," Shi said at the airport.
Reviewing and passing of the protocol of China's accession to the WTO will begin from 18:20 local time in Doha Sunday. Shi will sign the protocol Monday on behalf of the Chinese Government. China is expected to become a full member a month later.
