China's central SOEs further assist Xinjiang in expanding employment

BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- China's centrally-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have intensified efforts to assist Xinjiang in expanding employment since 2022, pledging to further support high-quality development in Xinjiang. According to a conference held by the Xinjiang government and China's top state-asset regulator on Monday, the central enterprises' work in assisting the development of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has achieved remarkable results in the past two years.

URUMQI, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region had 1,911 high-tech enterprises in 2023, spanning fields such as smart agriculture, new energy, and new materials, hitting a record high, local authorities said on Friday. The number of small and medium-sized scientific and technological enterprises reached 2,256 in Xinjiang in 2023, an increase of 80.

Epitaph of high-ranking official in Tang Dynasty discovered in Xinjiang

A previously anonymous epitaph discovered in 2022 in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been identified as paying tribute to a high-ranking Tang Dynasty (618-907) official, local authorities said.
