NEW DELHI, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) "is very much necessary" as it helps in understanding each other's cultural and civilizational diversities and brings all closer to each other, an India scholar has said. Srikanth Kondapalli, chairman of the Center for East Asian Studies at Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University, made the remarks in a recent interview with Xinhua.
The Conference of Dialogue on Asian Civilizations (CDAC) scheduled on May 15 in Beijing will usher in a new era in which the diversity of civilizations is appreciated. Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony and attend related activities of the event which is themed with “exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future”.
