Discover the beauty of Xiamen through a local photographer’s eye

Zhang Xiaoliang is trying to capture every chance to spread his photos online these days about his home city of Xiamen. As a self-proclaimed city publicity volunteer, Zhang has left footprints in every corner of the island city and taken more than 100,000 photos over the past 10 years.

Xue Shijie takes photos at Zhongshan Road in Xiamen, southeast China''s Fujian Province, Aug. 16, 2017. The 30-year-old Xue is a senior Xiamen file photo collector. Ten years ago, he came to Xiamen and started to take photos of the city''s development in his spare time. In 2011, Xue saw the city''s file photos on the internet by accident. He began to attend online auctions and bought them from other collectors. The Shanghang man has collected more than 4,000 file photos of the coastal city. Apart from photo collection, Xue also does researches on Xiamen''s development by comparison between new and file photos and shares them on social media. (Xinhua/Jiang Kehong)

Honored guests unveil stamps issued by China Post commemorating the BRICS Summit in Xiamen, southeast China''s Fujian Province, Aug. 19, 2017. China Post issued a stamp on Saturday to commemorate the BRICS Summit in Xiamen. The stamp bears logo of the summit as well as the letters "BRICS" and "2017 China". China issues commemorative stamps for BRICS Summit

China Post issued a stamp on Saturday to commemorate the BRICS Summit in Xiamen of east China's Fujian province. The stamp bears logo of the summit as well as the letters "BRICS" and "2017 China".
