On November 26, 2013, Xi’an High-tech Zone signed an investment agreement with Hana Bank, according to which Hana Bank (China) would establish its Xi’an Branch in Xi’an High-tech Zone.

Hana Financial Group, Hana Bank’s parent company, is the second biggest financial group in South Korea, with total assets of more than KRW352 trillion (about USD320 billion). Hana Bank is the third biggest bank in South Korea. According to the investment agreement signed between the two parties, Hana Bank (China) would establish its Xi’an Branch in Xi’an High-tech Zone. With the registered capital of RMB100 million, the branch is expected to be located on 1/F, Yuehan Building, Jinye Road. The branch is the first of its kind that Hana Bank would establish in northwest China, and also the second foreign bank introduced by Xi’an High-tech Zone. In line with the planning, the branch is expected to kick off its decoration in August 2013, wrap up its opening application, enterprise registration, and opening preparation work by the end of December and be open to the public officially in January 2014. The settlement of Hana Bank in Xi’an High-tech Zone is another key project invested by South Korea after the successful settlement of Samsung Memory Chip Project in the zone, signaling the increasingly deep and wide cooperation between Xi’an and enterprises of South Korea.
