Major General Shao Hua Presents Photo Exhibit

Major General Shao Hua, daughter-in-law of late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, gave a photography exhibition November 13 in Nanning, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The show, named "My Motherland," was held in the Nanning's People's Park where Chairman Mao used to meet with the ethnic people of Guangxi.

The 130 pictures on exhibit depict stage art, landscapes and flowers. Shao has spent several years perfecting these and other photographic themes including portraits, revolutionary artifacts, scenic spots, and commemorative activities.

"I'd like to share with people my passion for the motherland through these pictures," said Shao.

Shao married Mao Anqing, the second child of Mao Zedong, in 1960. Shao is now with the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Military Academy of Sciences, and is also a member of the China Photographers Association.
