A ceremony to mark the publication of a picture album on China's military parade of October 1 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic was held in the Great Hall of People in Beijing on November 13.

Among those present at today's ceremony was Chi Haotian, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission.

The album includes 500 pictures of the military parade whose participants included the ground, air and naval services of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed police, and militia and reserved forces. It also has 70 pictures of military parades conducted in previous years.

The album was edited by the PLA Branch of the Xinhua News Agency, the Hong Kong-based Wen Wei Po, and the Enterprises Group on Culture and Education, and was published by the Wen Wei Po and Xinhua publishing houses.
