Ancient tomb in China's Hubei(20021222)

The photo taken on Dec. 21 shows the excavation site of an ancient tomb dating from the Warring State Period (475-221B.C.) in Zaoyang, central China's Hubei Province. According to experts, the owner of the tomb might be an important aristocrat of the Chu State during that period so that a large number of antiques is likely to be discovered.

A Large Ancient Pottery Discovered in Xinzheng (20021031)

The photo taken Oct. 30, 2002 shows some potsherds with seals of ancient Chinese characters unearthed from a large ancient pottery in Xinzheng of central China's Henan Province recently. According to archaeologists, it was likely a large state-run pottery traced back to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (771 B.C.--256 B.C.), covering an area of about 50,000 square meters. (Xinhua)

Underground Tomb-Shanxi(20020926)

A brick-carving depicting the tomb owner (C) with his wives and servents sitting symmetrically at home is situated on the interior wall of an underground tomb dating back to 700 years in Houma City in northwest China's Shanxi Province Sep. 25, 2002. The newly discovered tomb measures 3.8 meters high and 2.2 meters in width and length, and is a brick structure decorated with colorful paintings. (Xinhua)

China to Restore Ancient Mausoleum(20020828)

Undated picture shows a bronze kettle excavated from the Xichui Mausoleum in Linxian County, northwest China's Gansu Province. Discovered on the Mount Dabaozi in 1993, the mausoleum is said to belong to the ancestors of Qinshihuang, the first emperor who unified China in 221 B.C.
