Factbox: China's progress on business resumption

BEIJING, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Amid further containment of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic, China is powering ahead in returning to work and resuming business and production. The following are the latest facts and figures:

-- Small and medium-sized enterprises have gradually resumed work, with their work resumption rate exceeding 80 percent, Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said at a work conference from April 8 to 9, citing the ministry's big data monitoring on cloud platforms.

-- The China express delivery index stood at 103.7 percent in March, up 12.5 percentage points from February that indicated economic activities have picked up remarkably, according to data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

The sub-index for express business expanded 14.2 percentage points in March from a month earlier. The sub-index for rural delivery expanded 12.8 percentage points and that for cross-border delivery climbed 1.5 percentage points in March from February.

-- The work resumption rate of major industrial enterprises in the capital city of Beijing reached 99.9 percent.

As of Friday, 3,007 of the total 3,010 major enterprises in Beijing have resumed work, while 4,201 of the total 4,408 main commercial buildings have resumed work, with a work resumption rate of 95.3 percent, according to information provided by the city's development and reform commission.

Construction on 2,130 projects have all be resumed, with 338,000 people returning to their post on the site.
