Li Zhe, an engineer in Beijing, found he spent a large amount of money on electronic gadgets, including a Kindle device and a Bluetooth speaker, during a long period of staying at home.

“Reading, online gaming and listening to music are the main forms of entertainment during these days,” Li said, adding relevant electronic products make life more interesting.

Demand for electronics, such as 3D printed devices, smart watches and smart bracelets, grew rapidly between January and February, with the output increasing respectively by 101 percent, 119.7 percent and 45.1 percent, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

Major Chinese e-commerce platforms such as JD.com and Suning.com also saw an increase in sales. Laptops, tablets, printers and smart cameras became the most popular items among these platforms in February.

With the smartphone market in China showing signs of recovery, mobile phone makers including Huawei, have been working to ensure market supply and production of new products.

Data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology show that 11 kinds of 5G phones were released in the country in February.

Huawei recently launched its P40 series smartphones during an online event. The newest flagship phones, the P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+, are pre-installed with its self-developed Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) Apps ecosystem.

Industry insiders predict China's 5G smartphone market will keep growth on track in the second quarter of the year.
