Wuhan's Leishenshan Hospital sees half of COVID-19 patients discharged

WUHAN, March 17 (Xinhua) -- About half of the COVID-19 patients admitted to Wuhan's field hospital Leishenshan have been discharged, said Yuan Yufeng, vice president of the hospital, at a press conference Tuesday.

According to Yuan, the hospital had received 1,961 COVID-19 patients and discharged 970 of them as of the end of Monday. It is currently the designated hospital with the largest number of patients in the city, with 942 patients still undergoing treatment.

The hospital has a total of 3,202 medical staff in 16 medical teams from nine provincial-level regions at present, as well as 660 logistics personnel, Yuan added.

Built in less than two weeks by 15,000 constructors, Leishenshan Hospital has 1,402 beds in 32 wards and started to receive patients on Feb. 8.
