With the resumption of work and production accelerating, China is gradually returning to its normal business vitality. As of March 10, 67.5 percent of business vitality has been recovered, compared with the fourth quarter of 2019.
Business vitality across the country almost ground to a halt during the Spring Festival because of the epidemic outbreak, with the number of people doing business less than 10 percent of what it was a year ago, according to data.
Subsequently, from Jan. 31, Feb. 10, Feb. 17, Feb. 24, March 2 and March 9, there has been some periodical growth in the data.
As of March 10, most of the 336 cities saw a high level of business vitality, with little difference between them. Furthermore, most of the cities with higher business vitality were small and medium-sized cities.
However, Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, was still seeing low business vitality. 1.8 percent of the city’s business vitality recovered on Jan. 28, and the rate has been growing slowly ever since, reaching 15.3 percent on March 6.
