SHANGHAI, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) delivered more than 12 tonnes of medical supplies in its latest donation in Shanghai on Sunday to support China's fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
The consignment includes masks, protective clothing, goggles, medical gloves, thermometers, sample collection kits, and hand sanitizers, which will be dispatched to central China's Hubei Province, where the outbreak is most severe, according to the organization.
The latest shipment brought the total worth of UNICEF-donated supplies to nearly 1 million U.S. dollars, with a combined weight of more than 30 tonnes, the UNICEF said in a press release.
The first batch of supplies arrived in Wuhan on Jan. 30, followed by another batch to Beijing.
