CAIRO, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese citizens were killed and four others injured in a traffic accident on a highway in Cairo Tuesday, said the Chinese Embassy in Egypt.
The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. local time (1830 GMT) on the highway from Maadi district, north of Egypt's capital Cairo, to the new administrative capital, east of Cairo, the embassy said in a brief release to Xinhua.
The injured, who are on a business trip to the north African country, have been discharged from hospital after treatment, it said.
The accident was caused by a flat tire of the vehicle, and the embassy has provided consular assistance for the victims instantly after the accident happened, the embassy added.
