ULAN BATOR, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The award ceremony of a painting competition among Mongolian children to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia was held here on Tuesday.

Titled "Friendship Bell," the competition was co-organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator and China's Enlai Foundation.

Mongolian children aged four or over sent a total of 129 works to the competition, the organizers said, adding that children with disabilities actively participated in the competition.

"China and Mongolia attach great importance to the development of youth education, especially the physical and mental health of children with disabilities," Li Wei, cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia and director of the Chinese Culture Center in Ulan Bator, said at the ceremony.

"I believe there will be more and more such activities in the future, bringing warmth to the families of these children with disabilities, and also helping them grow up," Li added.

The Top 16 participants of the competition were awarded certificates and cash prizes.
