SHANGHAI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The second round of China-U.S. Leading Scholars Dialogue was held in Shanghai from Friday to Saturday.
The dialogue was jointly hosted by the Institute of American Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Paul Tsai China Center of Yale University.
During the dialogue, nearly 30 renowned Chinese and American scholars from different fields had in-depth discussions and exchanges on Sino-U.S. relations, economy and trade, security, climate change, technology, cyber governance and other issues.
Scholars attending the dialogue believe that China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. The two countries should strive to find and expand areas of cooperation, properly manage and control differences, and achieve peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit.
Academic and think tank exchanges are very important to enhance dialogue and communication and reduce the deficit of trust between the two countries. Chinese and American academic circles should further strengthen cooperation and exchanges to contribute to building sound Sino-U.S. relations and bring more benefits to the two peoples and the world.
