PRETORIA, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- China and Africa can cooperate in various fields, such as climate protection, technical innovation and poverty reduction, said officials and experts at a conference here on Tuesday.

The conference, titled "Governance and Socioeconomic Development in China and Africa," aims to exchange governance experience and deepen socioeconomic cooperation between China and Africa.

Chinese Ambassador to South Africa Lin Songtian said China is willing to work with countries of the world for the good of mankind.

"In future, China and African countries will organize thematic conferences, joint research projects and training programs focusing on governance experience exchanges," Lin said.

He added the training programs would help participants share experience of governance, learn from each other in socio-economic development and strengthen cooperation.

"China has demonstrated how a country can transform itself through innovation and technology," said Daan du Toit, deputy director-general for international cooperation and resources in the South African department of science and technology.

"There are opportunities of collaboration in innovation and technology between China, South Africa and Africa. China has expressed strong commitment to partners in Africa in these areas," he said.

He mentioned that China and Africa have been collaborating in forestry, mining, manufacturing and research centers, and the future of cooperation is bright.

Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, presidential advisor on economic affairs of South Sudan, said Africa can learn from the Communist Party of China (the CPC)'s leadership and China's stability, which are conducive to economic growth.

He said China has "a very strong party", the CPC, which plays "a crucial role" in realizing China's visions.
