More than 20,000 tourists from across the country gathered in Qinzhou city, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, for a gourmet oyster festival that kicked off on Nov. 2, 2019.

A variety of activities will be held during the festival, including an oyster shucking competition, an exhibition of Qinzhou oyster history, and a fair of local agricultural products and delicacies, among others.

The festival is intended to improve the reputation of Qinzhou oysters. Qinzhou has a developed oyster industry, producing 70 percent of the country's oysters.
