BEIJING, Oct. 14 -- Eleven countries or regions have confirmed to use Chinese digital TV standards so far, Tian Shihong, head of the country's standardization administration, said Monday.
Chinese standards have become the fourth international digital TV standard of the International Telecommunication Union, facilitating the digitalization of China's TV industry and overseas promotion and applications, Tian said.
China will further strengthen the development of standards related to ultra high-definition video coding and other aspects, according to Tian.
Monday marked the 50th World Standards Day, themed "Video standards create a global stage."
China has over 100 video-related national standards.
