XINING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called for solid efforts to carry out the CPC Central Committee's requirements concerning the Party's education campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission."

Chen Xi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks on Sunday during an inspection tour in northwest China's Qinghai Province.

When visiting local villagers, Chen called on the village Party branch to lead the Party members and other people to work hard and consolidate the achievements in poverty relief.

Chen urged college students to study hard and devote themselves to scientific research, calling for efforts to nurture a new generation of capable young people well-prepared to join the socialist cause.

He asked for active participation in the education campaign, noting that strengthening patriotic education in the new era should serve as an important part of the campaign.
