BEIJING, Oct. 9 -- "Stories of Zhejiang," a documentary produced by China International Publishing Group, premiered in Beijing Wednesday.

The documentary presents stories of Lord Michael Bates, a member of the House of Lords in the UK, and his wife Li Xuelin, who spent a month walking from Hangzhou to Wenzhou in eastern China's Zhejiang Province.

Bates, with his curiosity and reflection concerning topics such as targeted poverty reduction as well as that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," walked into Zhejiang's village, departure station of the China-Europe railway and an ancient tea plantation.

The documentary also presents his interaction with figures such as farmers, workers, entrepreneurs and artists, demonstrating personal feelings toward the development during the past seven decades and pursuit of a better life by the Chinese people.

Starting on Oct. 13, the documentary will be aired on CNBC, the website of Wall Street Journal, China Central Television and a number of new media outlets.
