The majority of deals for intended purchase signed by the Shanghai trade delegation at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) were fulfilled within half a year, China National Radio reported on Aug. 17.

The deals signed by the Shanghai delegation totaled $6 billion, accounting for over 10 percent of all agreements signed during the first CIIE, introduced Xu Kunlin, deputy mayor of Shanghai.

He added that a total of 99 percent of the signed deals had been delivered within six months.

By Aug. 15, nearly 9,500 exhibitors and buyers from Shanghai had confirmed their participation in the second CIIE, according to data from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.

It is estimated that over 65,000 professional visitors will attend.

Wang Bingnan, Vice Minister of Commerce, said that 39 trading delegations and almost 600 sub-delegations would attend this year's expo.

Registration for the second CIIE has just begun. So far, the second CIIE has held two matching making activities and provided a platform in four exhibition areas to facilitate deals between exhibitors and buyers.
