The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (National Academy of Economic Strategy) and the Economic Daily Press announced the 17th Report on China’s Urban Competitiveness on June 24.
According to the report, Changsha is classified as a first-tier and/or second-tier city. Its comprehensive economic competitiveness ranked among the top 20 in China. Its sustainability and livability competitiveness rankings nationwide rose to 22nd and 14th respectively. In particular, livability competitiveness ranked first among central China cities.
The report studied the comprehensive economic competitiveness of 293 cities and the livability, sustainability, and business competitiveness of 288 cities across China in 2018.
City is an artificially-constructed complex system, and its sustainability and livability will become the greatest challenges facing the world in the 21st century. Livability competitiveness is also an important aspect that determines the overall comprehensive competitiveness of a city. Therefore, measures should be taken to improve the livability competitiveness of a city. (en.changsha.gov.cn)
