Full 5G coverage is one highlight of the ongoing 2019 Summer Davos meeting, which is currently being held in northeast China’s coastal city of Dalian from July 1 to 3.

The 5G technology allows participants to enjoy the convenience brought by 5G services and 5G-supported applications, such as panoramic VR plus 4K ultra-high definition television, according to the organizers.

“It was just like being in a real desert,” a foreign participant said after trialing a VR/AR experience in a 5G-enabled sandbox placed in the venue.

Besides the main venues, 5G is also available throughout parts of the city, including key hotels, transportation and tourist sites.

Another highlight of the forum is the green technology used throughout.

The New Champions village, a venue for meetings and discussions, takes on a natural wood color, providing people with the feeling of returning to nature.

Participants commute between the village and meeting venues with 100 electric vehicles, and the food provided is all made using organically-grown ingredients and bio-degradable packaging.

The ongoing Summer Davos features the theme of “Leadership 4.0: Succeeding in a New Era of Globalization.” All participants will discuss how to cope with the new challenges of a changing world and promote globalization through more than 200 panel sessions.
