BEIJING, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for efforts to deepen reform in legal fields.

Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting on the country's judicial system reform.

Guo stressed that the reform should solve practical problems, meet public needs and enhance the credibility of law enforcement and judicature.

He also called for perseverance in reform to ensure that all tasks are carried out effectively.
