From towering cranes and powerful excavators, Chinese manufacturers shined at this year’s bauma, the world’s leading construction machinery trade fair in Munich, Germany.

Held from April 8 to 14, the trade fair saw over 3,700 world exhibitors, including many industry leaders, such as Volvo from Sweden, Switzerland-based Liebherr, and Hitachi from Japan. At the exhibition, China’s construction machinery companies also had a strong presence.

Coming from Xuzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province, XCMG Group participated in bauma for the first in 1992. “But we had no product to exhibit. Let alone grand layouts. We only had a handful of pictures,” said Wang Ming, the group’s chairman.

This year, XCMG Group brought 16 sets of advanced equipment for multiple functions, such as lifting, excavation, road construction, and aerial work platform.

The internationalization of personnel is also a noticeable detail in addition to the powerful mechanical products from the Chinese manufacturers. Several Chinese manufacturers saw foreign employees at their exhibits.

At Sany Heavy Industry Co., a sales manager surnamed Moller from Germany said that China has rich resources and Germany boasts a sound foundation of industrial development, making the pair natural partners with great cooperation potentials.

Many industry insiders highly appraised the international prospects of China’s construction machinery industry. Several Chinese companies have won large orders, and a lot of the equipment that was on exhibition will be shipped directly to customers after the exhibition.
