The Chaka Salt Lake, nicknamed the Chinese Salar de Uyuni, was awarded the title of “most beautiful star photography base” at the First China Star Photography Festival, which opened on Sept. 18, China News reported.
The Chaka Salt Lake, in northwestern China’s Qinghai province, covers an area of over 100 square kilometers, and has an average salt thickness of four meters. In good weather, the surface of the lake looks like a mirror, which is how it earned the name “China’s Salar de Uyuni.”
The festival was co-hosted by China News Service, the China Media Culture Promotion Association, China Image Group and the Chaka Salt Lake cultural tourism development company.
