90 kilometers away from the town center of Zhenyuan County, Zhentai Caopi Street was built in the 20th year of Emperor Guangxu's Reign (1894). Streets and markets were built in the place where the Zhentai Village located its government, and as the markets were set on the grass, the place was named “Caopi Steet”, namely the street on the grass.

Caopi Street was formerly a gathering place of merchants and residents. It is a significant area of Zhentai Town.
