On April 1, 2018, Bangwai's thousand-year-old transitional ancient tea tree of the year was available for picking as scheduled amid the expectations of all walks of life.
After diligent efforts from 6:50 AM to 11:00 AM, a total of 73.6 kilograms of fresh tea was picked from the tree.
Located in Fudong Township, Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, discovered in 1993, the tree has an age of more than 1,700 years.
